At last, the wild chase the boar had lead Drog and Egen on had come to it's end, the two bull orkz crashing down on the wounded animal with all their weight. Being sent to hunt down something that might provide ample rations for their squad of Grella's massive warband wasn't the most celebrated orders they could have recieved, but the two didn't mind. The time away from camp was welcome after the trip across the water and the long march up to the edge of the Grenlow Vale. Drog hoisted the huge boar up over a shoulder, and gave Egen a friendly punch to the arm as they began their walk back to camp.
Caught up in the excitement of the hunt, however, the two did not notice that from the rough rock mounds at the edge of the patch of forest where they had been hunting, they were being watched.
Limbs from the nearby trees cracked loudly as a huge boulder crashed down beside them. The boar dropped from Drog's shoulder as he broke into a run, the deafening bellow that come from behind them telling him all he needed to know.
Egen stood, dumbfounded and terrified as Drog grabbed at his shirt to hurry him along, all the while screaming, "Trollz!"
The stone ended weapon of the huge beast swung horizontally at the two orkz as he bounded after them, splintering nearby trees. His roar echoed off the nearby mountainside. The ground beneath the ork's feet trembled as the massive troll ran toward them.
"Ru... uh... " Drog's words were cut short as the back of the huge troll's hand sent him sailing down the path he and Egen had come up, crashing hard into a large old tree. Drog fell to the ground a breathless, bruised heap.
"Trrrrrolllz 'ere!", the massive beast bellowed. "This be Gorgol's pass!"
Egen's eyes grew wide. Sumbling slightly, he slowly backed away, but the huge troll kept pace with him, bending down to look into his face at eye level.
"Orkz," Gorgol said in a low, rumble of a voice, "... bad."
Egen knew he was in trouble. His carefully paced steps broke into a run, only to find that run broken as he stumbled, the carelessness of his fear causing him to stumble over roots and stones in the path. He lay there, looking up as the troll, Gorgol, stood over him.
"Orkz..." Gorgol yelled again. "Bad!"
His stone ended weapon came down with full force into Egen's gut, sending gore flying.
Gorgol walked back up the path to the mounds and caves from where he had came, dragging the two ork bodies as the storm clouds gathered overhead, the entire way muttering, "orkz... bad.....".
